First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit - Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is there a deadline to receive the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit?
Yes, you must close on your home (meaning your purchase must be finalized) by November 30th, 2009.
2) Do I still have time to take advantage of the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit?
Maybe...but you'll have to act VERY quickly. It typically, takes 45 days to close on a home. However, this can sometimes be completed within 30 days. I would urge you to speak with a loan officer immediately to discuss the possibility of closing within 30 days and obtain your pre-approval.
